With a fixed target, you close as soon as it's hit: you walk away with something, but you step off right before the big rally. The trailing stop puts no ceiling on it: your exit moves up right behind the price and only closes when the market really turns.

On the same trade, the fixed target captures +8 and the trailing stop +22. Both win; the trailing stop wins almost three times as much.

What you should know

From the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester report on XAU/USD historical data from 2020 to 2026, with real spreads. It's a backtest, meaning a simulation on past data, not a live account. The strategy was selected through genetic evolution in StrategyQuant and validated with Monte Carlo and Walk-Forward on periods it didn't use during its creation. All the figures, with the full report, are in the results section. As with any strategy, past results don't guarantee future returns.
AUREUM was designed to avoid that: it was tested on periods it didn't use during its creation, and it passed robustness tests such as Monte Carlo and Walk-Forward. Even so, we recommend starting with prudent capital, because no strategy is free of risk.
With dynamic management: a trailing stop to follow trades that go your way, and take-profit and stop-loss levels that adjust to volatility and market conditions at each moment, instead of fixed distances.

Any reputable broker that offers MetaTrader 5 and the XAU/USD pair with competitive spreads. What matters is that it's a regulated broker, with good execution and low latency. The installation guide helps you choose one, but the final choice and opening the account are always up to you.
As a technical requirement, a suggested account size of €5,000 or more: that's the size the strategy's minimum lot is calibrated for (0.01 lots per €1,000), and the size at which the fee becomes proportionate to the capital. It is not a recommendation on how much to invest. The actual minimum is set by your broker, and how much you allocate depends on your situation and your risk tolerance. Leveraged trading can lead to losses; never trade with money you need.
Not to use it: AUREUM trades autonomously once it's installed. It does help to understand the basics (what a broker is, MetaTrader 5, the risk of leverage) so you can make good decisions. The step-by-step guide walks you through the whole installation process.
A VPS is a computer in the cloud that's always on: with one, MetaTrader 5 and AUREUM keep trading 24/5 even if you turn off your computer or the power or internet goes out at home. The simplest option is the MetaTrader 5 VPS (“MQL5 Virtual Hosting”): you rent it from inside MT5 in a few minutes, it copies your chart with AUREUM, and from then on you can turn off your computer. That's why it's the best option if you use a Mac. It costs about 15 USD a month plus VAT (check the current price in the rental window). A Windows VPS from a hosting provider or from your broker works too. We walk you through it step by step in the installation guide: homeaureum.com/en/guide.html#vps.
Your license is linked to the MetaTrader 5 account number it first runs on. If you switch accounts or brokers, you do it yourself from your license page (homeaureum.com/en/license): one change every 30 days on the base plan and unlimited on Premium, which also supports up to 3 accounts at once. Sharing or reselling the license is not allowed, and the protection system deactivates it.
Everything in the base plan plus four things: up to 3 MT5 accounts linked at once (for example live, demo and prop firm); unlimited, self-service account changes from your license page; new software versions before anyone else; and a read-only technical updates channel. That channel is for system notices: it publishes new versions, maintenance and incidents. It doesn't share trades, signals or investment ideas.
No. AUREUM calculates it on its own with the reference lot mode: 0.01 lots per 1,000 of your account balance, rounded to the step your broker allows, with a minimum (your broker's minimum lot) and a cap of 1 lot. With 5,000, it trades 0.05 lots; if your balance grows or drops, the size adapts on the next trade. If you'd rather set it yourself, there's a manual mode with the lot size you choose. Also, if the license or the connection ever fails, the robot doesn't remove itself from the chart: it alerts you with a code, keeps managing the open trades and retries on its own.
